Serpent Well
Arthur, June 10, 2011
Serpent Well is another contribution to an ongoing project called The Coningsburgh Tales in which I am attempting to rewrite some of the legends of my home town, Conisbrough, in verse.

The Deer Stealers
Arthur, November 24, 2010
This poem continues the story of the serpent of Serpent Well. It is closely based on the original in the Doncaster Gazette of 1864. As it is set in a pub (The Bald Faced Stag, now The Red Lion) I decided that Robert Service's poem, The Shooting of Dan McGrew would make a good model for my verse retelling.
